By implementing decision of 26.05.2015, the program for the development of rural areas 2014-2020 of the state of Thuringia was approved by the European Commission. It represents the core of the Rural Development Funding Initiative in Thuringia 2014-2020.
The development program contributes to the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy in accordance with the mandate of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development by promoting the sustainable development of rural areas in Thuringia, in addition to other instruments of the Common Agricultural Policy and in coherence with other EU funds. It identifies regional needs and formulates specific development goals. The program has been evaluated by an external assessor and subjected to a strategic environmental assessment.
